Introducing the NIHRC schools road show
Schools across Northern Ireland are invited to attend the Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission schools road show.
The road show has been organised in recognition of the fact that GCSE pupils study the Commission for a controlled assessment task as part of the Citizenship element of LLW.
Year 11 or Year 12 pupils and their teachers are welcome to attend one of the inter-schools workshops’ kindly hosted by:
- Omagh High School: Wednesday 6 November’ 11am - 1pm
- Ballee Community High School: Thursday 7 November’ 11.20am - 1pm
- Our Lady and St Patrick’s College: Friday 8 November’ 11.30am - 1.30pm
The workshops will include presentations by NIHRC staff on the background’ features and work of the NIHRC’ with a focus on the NIHRC’s most recent investigation into racially motivated hate crime’ which is being launched on 15 October 2013.
Registration is essential and you can secure places at your preferred location by emailing kellie.turtle@nihrc.org or calling 02890 243 987. The deadline for registration is 28 October 2013. Please note that places are currently limited to 30 per school. However’ should more space become available we will contact each registered school to offer extra places where requested.
