Human Rights Commission condemns threats to journalists
The Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission has expressed deep concern over recent threats made to NI journalists.
NIHRC Chief Commissioner, Les Allamby, commented:
“The Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission strongly condemns the recent threats made to Sunday World and to BBC Panorama journalists. Freedom of the press is a fundamental human right and something we all should cherish. It is essential that journalists are able to do their jobs safely. The Commission will be raising this concern internationally through its human rights reporting networks.”
