NIHRC visits Coleraine
NIHRC visits Coleraine
The Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission is visiting community representatives from the Coleraine area on Wednesday 28 March. The visit takes place as part of the Commission’s continuing community engagement programme, and includes meetings with locally based community organisations.
The Commission is meeting with Community Rural and Urban Network, Causeway Citizen’s Advice Bureau, Building Communities Resource Centre, Coleraine Churches Forum, as well as local mental health and community groups.
In addition, the Chief Commissioner is meeting with the PSNI District Commander for Causeway Coast & Glens, Superintendent Jeremy Lindsay.
Chief Commissioner Les Allamby said:
“We are delighted to visit Coleraine, we will shortly be setting our strategic plan for the next three years so it is vital that we hear from people across Northern Ireland on the human rights issues that are affecting them. Our work is to promote and protect the human rights of everyone in Northern Ireland. We particularly welcome the opportunity to learn about the work of church organisations and those working within the areas of physical disability and mental well-being. We are grateful to all the groups and representatives that took the time to meet with us.”
