Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission hosts four jurisdictions meeting
The Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission (NIHRC) has welcomed the opportunity to host a meeting of the National Human Rights Institutions and equality bodies of the UK and Ireland.
Senior representatives of the NIHRC, Equality Commission for Northern Ireland, Scottish Human Rights Commission, Equality and Human Rights Commission and the Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission have come together in Belfast to discuss ongoing work and areas of cooperation.
NIHRC Chief Commissioner Alyson Kilpatrick said:
“We are delighted to be able to host this annual meeting of the four jurisdictions.
It is a great opportunity to examine how we can most effectively work together to enhance the promotion and protection of human rights and equality for everyone on these islands.
It is important that we maintain and strengthen our relationships, working collectively and across our respective jurisdictions to address the many common issues that we all need to address.”
