Coroner Inquest in Death Investigation

One of our objectives in the Fundamental Review of Death Certification and the Coroner Services was to re-establish the coroner’s inquest as a viable and effective procedure for investigating complex and contentious deaths, which would enjoy public confidence and security from challenge in the higher courts.
