NIHRC Response to the Draft Childcare Strategy

The Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission (‘the Commission’) pursuant to Section 69(3) of the Northern Ireland Act 1998, is required to advise the NI Executive on “measures which ought to be taken to protect human rights”. In accordance with this function the following statutory advice is submitted to the Office of the First Minister and Deputy First Minister (‘the Department’) on its consultation document ‘Delivering Social Change through Childcare: A Ten Year Strategy for Affordable and Integrated Childcare 2015-2025’ (‘the draft strategy’).
