NIHRC Submission to the UN Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination July 2024

Last Updated: Monday, 8 July 2024

The Committee on the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (UN CERD) has begun its 113th Session, taking place in Geneva 5-23 August 2024. The NIHRC has submitted a shadow report to the UN CERD Committee to inform the examination of the UK and NI’s compliance with the Convention. The NIHRC has prepared its report based on the 'List of Themes' report submitted to the Committee in May 2024, outlining key themes most relevant to the Convention and pertinent to racial and ethnic minority communities in NI. These themes were included based on engagement with civil society organisations representing relevant communities and the ongoing work of the NIHRC.
