Submission on preventing and combating violence against women

In March 2011# the Commission wrote to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office about the draft text for a Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence# which was being debated at the Council of Europe.
The Commission was concerned that the government may oppose the draft. It urged government to allow the draft text to be adopted and to sign# ratify and implement the Convention as soon as possible.
