Toward a culture of tolerance - education for diversity

The Commission welcomes the establishment of the Working Group and the production of the Report. The Commission is pleased to comment on the document, which it considers essential to the progression of human rights awareness in Northern Ireland. Indeed, the Commission has already met with representatives of the Department of Education and the Northern Ireland Council for the Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment to consider ways in which human rights education could be included in the new curriculum. The Commission looks forward to the continuation of these debates in light of its response to this consultation paper.
