Applications are invited for the following full-time posts:
Post 1: Policy and Research Officer (Core Team) – Permanent
Post 2: Policy and Research Officer (Human Rights after Brexit Team) - 2 year Fixed Term Contract (with possibility of extension)
The grade of these posts is currently equivalent to Northern Ireland Civil Service Grade Staff Officer, with a current pay band of £34,524-£35,712 per year (grade and salary under review).
The permanent post is within the ‘core’ policy team. The post holder will act as part of a team charged with undertaking the Commission’s review of the adequacy and effectiveness of law and practice relating to the protection of human rights in Northern Ireland.

This team works closely with ‘core’ policy colleagues, and it is expected that team members will work across that boundary as required and may rotate between teams over time.
These roles will support the Senior Policy and Research Officer and Director in providing advice on human rights compliance in Northern Ireland to a variety of stakeholders, including Northern Ireland Executive and Assembly, Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, Westminster Parliament, public authorities, Council of Europe monitoring bodies, United Nations treaty bodies and civil society.
The post holders will also support the Senior Policy and Research Officer and Director in other areas, including delivering human rights training and conducting statutory investigations.
