Summary recommendations/messages

The Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission:

3.1  welcomes Clause 6, which introduces a broader offence criminalising conduct undertaken for the purpose of causing a child to enter into a marriage before the age of 18.

3.2  recommends that the Committee consider the lacuna that will continue to exist in relation to child marriages concluded outside the UK.
